NCAMS is an organization devoted to the improvement of mathematics instruction on all levels – elementary, secondary and college. Membership is open to all supervisory school personnel, persons previously acting in a supervisory capacity, and specialists in mathematics and / or the computer field.

NCAMS regularly sponsors the following types of events:

• Luncheon meetings on topical subjects such as assessments in NYS- Grade 4 and Grade 8, the Math A & B Regents, NYS Standards, Math-Science-Technology and numerous other trends in mathematics.
• Luncheons featuring relevant topics and representative(s) from the SED
• Annual “How to…” clinic for elementary and middle level teachers of mathematics
• Annual calculator conference (CHAT)
• Annual Math Conference for all levels (LIMACON )
• Nassau County Family Math Day
• Sharing Meetings for teachers at all levels
• Mathematics Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Level Students (MOEMS)
• In-service specialized summer workshops
• Scholarships for Leadership Education
• Support for the Goudreau Museum of Mathematics

NCAMS works in conjunction with the Nassau County Math Teachers Association and the Suffolk County Math Teachers Association in making the above events happen for all levels of math educators.

NCAMS is affiliated with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Association of Math Teachers of NYS, and the New York State Association of Math Supervisors in order to give its membership a voice in the affairs of these influential organizations.
